Next stop... Lanark

Today went a lot smoother than I had anticipated given that I arrived at my Final Destination by 10 a.m. After a 20 minute bus ride into downtown Glasgow, I finally reached the central train station. Understanding the Scottish brogue was a bit more difficult than I had expected, but I managed to get through with minimal struggle. By 9 a.m., I had boarded a train bound for Lanark. An hour later, I stepped off onto the Lanark platform and awaited word from my supervisor.
Less then 30 minutes later, my bags were in my hotel room and I was driving down to the visitor center at the New Lanark World Heritage Site. I opted to spend the day with Jane, meeting people and getting a basic idea of the history of the site. This decision was both a blessing and a curse.
On the one hand, staying up all day should have proved beneficial whilst attempting to combat jet lag. On the other hand, I dosed off many times today, many of which occurred during a sit-in at a staff meeting. (Needless to say, I was quite embarrassed by the whole ordeal, but they were quite understanding and welcoming.)
Anyway, I still have a great deal of unanswered questions, but there is plenty of time. My accommodations at the Scottish equestrian B&B are quite lovely and practically perfect for a solo traveller but I can't wait to move into the New Lanark hostel in 2 weeks so that I'm closer to my job and the sights. Once I am rested up i look forward to going along the trail that follows the Falls of Clyde.
I am still a bit nervous about the things to come, but I feel much better knowing that I have a nice room, a clean bed, and a hot shower.
